Who are we?VIDA PLENA (Life in Plenitude) is a not-for-profit organization founded in Spain in late 2002. Our objective is to create a rural residential centre for drug users, in which drug addiction will be tackled the holistic way, with alternative therapies, personal growth activities and the pursuit of a spiritual (non-denominational) search. This centre will be part of a community of like-minded people who will also run a retreat centre for the general public, as a way to finance their not-for-profit activities. What do we do?The association has a strategic plan to achieve its goal. At this point in time, Vida Plena operates by taking its activities to other centres, while training its members in addiction issues and contributing to raising the profile of alternative therapies in Spain. After this first phase of work, the association hopes to have its own urban Day Centre for the holistic treatment of drug addiction, the first of its kind in Spain. Once this centre is established, the association will move towards the creation of its rural residential centre as part of the community described above. In March 2005, Vida Plena is working in five centres in Madrid and is designing the program for its Day Centre, in order to present a proposal to funding institutions at the appropriate time. The association has a Board of Directors, an Advisory Committee of professionals who contribute with their work on Information Technology, Accounting, Internet, Insurance, etc. It also has a Steering Committee in Madrid, overseeing its daily work, and it hopes to expand to other cities and provinces in the country.
